Fernand Sebbah, hatter at the age of 30, while looking for a shop where he could sell his own range of ready-to-wear clothes, he fell in love with an old hat shop. There he realised the growing demand for hats; he was caught in it and proposed a full range of clothes with caps and matching hats.

Tired of feeling cooped up every day in his hat shop, he decided to leave and to become a consultant of Borsalino and Torpedo in Paris. During five years, he got into some of the most prestigious Parisian hats shops as well as into most of the big names in the ready-to-wear business and worked with the best fashion houses like Charvet, Céline, Lanvin, Smalto, Ungaro, Kenzo among some others.

Getting more and more committed every day into world of the hat trade, he became responsible for management of the "Gélot" hats department at Lanvin's. There he made caps and hats custom orders and really learned the task of the traditional hat maker with hints like the "coupé-cousu" also realising at the need for a balance of volumes. He left his job in the well-known hat department at the end of seven years of labor. He made hats for famous people in the artistic and political world. He served His Majesty Hassan II King of Morocco himself. Considered the champion of the "bord roulé", he made two Academician hats ( one for Commander Cousteau and another for Mr Pierre Messmer). Being one of the first to reintroduce the notorious hat called " Panama de Montecristi" for which he kept a real passion he would like to share some day with some other hat makers.

In 1996, he breaks with tradition, refuses to be confined like in a museum and decides to create a line of his own. He offers from now on no more " headwear", but "peakwear". In March 1996, he starts DBM company ( De Bon Matin) and sells his creation in Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, England, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Sweden, Russia, Saudi Arabia.
